BACKGROUND
We are the UK subsidiary of a successful, high-growth European company. We are developing avionics software for a leading aircraft manufacturer and have an established project team on site. Our contract has recently been renewed, and the task load continues to grow. We now require an additional engineer to work in the area of Safety Hazard Analysis. This position is an ideal opportunity to join an exciting organisation which is able to offer interesting technical work, with career prospects.

Terms and conditions are excellent, with a package of around £40K depending on skills and experience and a comprehensive relocation package negotiable if required. There is also an employee share scheme as part of the benefits package. The position is available immediately.
MAIN DUTIES
Day to day activities encompass:
• Safety/Hazard analysis and assessment of Avionics components such as:
o Communications
o Navigation
o Displays
o AMS.
• Catastrophic Events coverage
• Fault Tree diagramming / analysis
• Safety/Hazard Assessment documentation
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Successful Avionics Safety Engineers will have a proven track record in fault tree analysis techniques at system level, probabilistic fault tolerance analysis and probabilistic risk assessment. They will also have been involved in avionics software safety assessment and safety certification processes in the aerospace industry. They will have relevant experience of working in avionics.
Consideration will be given to those with strong FTA and FTD skills and relevant models and software expertise in other industries.
Essential skills and experience include:
• Fault Tree Analysis
• Fault Tree Diagrams
• Event Tree Analysis
• Safety Assessment Models
• Isograph FaulTree+ Software
• Lifecycle of Avionics Safety Systems
• Extensive demonstrable experience of working in avionics systems
• Particularly motivated to work in the area of embedded software
• Capable of producing documentation to a high standard.
DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• A numerate first degree
• Markov Analysis
• Probabilistic Risk Assessment
• Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills.
• Experience of working to standard IEC 61508 is highly desirable.
• A current UK security clearance would be an asset. It must be possible to clear those not already holding a clearance.
